As noted previously, homebuyers in Karnataka should pay registration fees when buying a home. In Karnataka, buyers must pay a registration fee of 1% of the deal's value. It's worth noting that the registration fee is supplementary to the stamp duty.

In regards to stamp duty in Karnataka, you'll have to budget for the cess and surcharge that would be included in the property registration fees in Bangalore and other localities around the state. A ten percent cess and a two percent surcharge are levied to properties priced above Rs 35 lakhs. In relation to urban areas, this is true. As a consequence, you'll have to pay 5.6 percent in stamp duty. Because the premium is 3% in rural areas, a house buyer pays 5.65% in stamp duty.

Other details to be included are the indicative market value and the indicative consideration amount. What is the indicative consideration amount? To arrive at the stamp duty rates and charges, the market value is the value as worked out as per the consideration (or ready reckoner, or stamp duty) mentioned in the document, whichever is higher. If the consideration value is higher, this will be taken into account to calculate stamp duty.
